Press Break Operator

Job Description

Salary:

Summit Products is looking for a Press Break Operator. You must know how to read blueprints to determine the measurements of each product and operate the press brake to cut and bend the materials into the shape according to specifications. Once the pieces are done, you will check to make sure they are the correct size and shape. You should have previous experience with press machine operation, whether through steel manufacturing or sheet metal work.

Responsibilities for a Laser Operator:

Read blueprints from designers and engineers

Program your machine to fit the design

Measure the final product to ensure uniformity

Has the ability to follow specified instructions

Perform maintenance on equipment

Restock materials

Execute proper start-up and shut-down of machine

Retrieves proper size sheets of steel for each project

Complete all paperwork required for each job run through laser

Follows all safety procedures and reports any possible safety concerns to supervisor

Troubleshoots machine when necessary

Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.

Qualifications for a Press Break Operator:

3+ Years of Press Break Operating Experience (Preferred)

General skills with hand and power tools

Problem solving skills

Ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects

Motivated with Strong work ethics

Knowledge of manufacturing process and sheet metal fabrication is required
