This position is based out of our corporate office in Greenville, SC.

The Merchandiser partners closely with the Senior Merchandiser, Design, Planning, and Sourcing teams to own and manage the development of seasonal product assortments for a division of Southern Tide across both wholesale and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels. This individual plays a strategic, cross-functional role, balancing creative direction with financial objectives, while adhering to the corporate calendar and maintaining brand consistency.

Crew Position:

Wholesale:

Own the divisional SKU planning process using sales analysis, historical performance, and market research to drive product strategies.

Collaborate with the Design team to build compelling, trend-forward assortments aligned with the Southern Tide aesthetic. This includes selecting key items, edits the line, and influences color and style choices based on trend and financial data.

Oversee the product master database and ensure all updates and changes are implemented accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure proper allocation of samples for marketing and sales needs; oversee seasonal sample management from a planning and priority standpoint—what’s needed, when, and why.

Partner with Sourcing to achieve seasonal and annual margin goals.

Manage and distribute product features and benefits information, ensuring cross-functional teams are aligned.

Maintain and distribute the daily Salesman Sample (SMS) marketing change log.

Lead preparation and execution of seasonal sales meetings, ensuring key product stories are highlighted.

Direct-to-Consumer (DTC):

Deliver weekly merchandising sales reports and provide insights to the Senior Director of Merchandising.

Leverage selling and trend analysis to develop assortment strategies that drive sales and customer engagement.

Strategically use AI software to identify and execute on quick-turn opportunities.

Managing product development of styles through collaboration with vendor partners.

Partner with Visual Merchandising to guide in-store presentations and storytelling.

Analyze sales against seasonal budgets and financial goals, identifying risks and opportunities. Identifies patterns, predicts future performance, and turns insights into strategies.

Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales to establish pricing strategies for retail and wholesale.

Expected to bring big-picture thinking—market trends, customer insights, and business goals inform their decisions. They influence the "why" and "what" behind assortments.

Frequently presents to leadership, works closely with cross-functional teams, and may represent the merchandising function in larger meetings.

Know the ropes...

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Merchandising, Business or related program degree preferred.

Generally, 4+ years’ experience in Merchandising or related field.

Experience managing or mentoring direct reports.

Strong analytical skills with proven ability to translate data into actionable strategy.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AI-based merchandising tools.
