Sensetics is a state-of-the art tactile sensing and robotic hardware and software company. Sensetics products include sub-millimeter resolution touch-sensitive, haptically enabled human/machine interface controllers that utilize machine learning and signal processing algorithms to analyze and interpret physical contact. Built on a backbone of groundbreaking metamaterial technology, its Touch SignatureTM fabrics are unique in that they both sense and recreate the feeling of touch. Sensetics controllers and software will create a new paradigm for touch data capture and realistic touch sensation, bringing touch into the digital age.

Sensetics is seeking a hands-on engineer to help design and build new products. Experience in electronic device design, fabrication and testing is a priority. The candidate must be able to manage the project from design through completion, taking responsibility for the development of robust and reproducible devices. Experience in tactile sensing, haptics, programming, and 3D printing is desirable. The ideal candidate will have a background developing new products that utilize micro or milli-scale sensors and actuators in MEMs, fluidics, piezoelectrics, or related technologies.

A masters or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mechatronics or similar is highly desirable along with 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with 5 years of relevant work experience. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to plan effectively, and to attack and defeat unforeseen problems with novel practical solutions. Candidate would join a small team operating out of Princeton, NJ. The position is in-person and requires light travel to facilities in California and to conferences.
