Senior Project Manufacturing Engineer

Summary

Seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in engineering project management, manufacturing automation, and tooling integration. This role is responsible for leading engineering projects, managing resources, and ensuring successful project delivery within timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in customer relations, technical documentation, and cross-functional team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple engineering development projects from initiation through closure, serving as the primary technical liaison with customers.

Mentor and develop junior engineers and project coordinators.

Oversee and negotiate engineering scope changes and ensure alignment with technical capabilities and contract terms.

Ensure all technical deliverables meet customer specifications and are aligned with project timelines.

Escalate risks and implement contingency plans to maintain project momentum.

Report project progress to stakeholders and maintain status documentation.

Define and manage complete project gate models, including goals, deliverables, resources, and timelines.

Analyze project issues and drive solutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.

Facilitate effective communication across cross-functional teams and lead high-performance engineering teams.

Conduct post-project evaluations to gather lessons learned and implement improvements.

Required Qualifications

10+ years in design supervision, engineering development, or manufacturing engineering roles.

Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program or equivalent technical experience.

Proven project management experience in complex manufacturing environments.

Background with tooling suppliers and equipment integration.

Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of on-time project delivery.

Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, leadership, and analytical thinking.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.

Familiarity with Siemens PLM software, AutoCAD, and ERP systems is a plus.

Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, customer-facing plant environments.

Strong interpersonal abilities with the capability to manage diverse personalities and de-escalate challenging situations.
