SMT Process Quality Engineer

Job Description

Short Description: SMT Process Quality Engineer are responsible for reviewing a variety of specialized equipment to produce printed circuit boards, computer chips, and other electronic components. We use this equipment to apply solder paste, pads, and other materials to PCBs in order to create electrical connections between components

Qualifications: requires a high school diploma or GED certificate. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as manufacturing or electronics a plus. Minimum 3 years SMT experience.

Responsibility:

1. Developing and implementing quality standards.

2. Comply with the company standard for ESD, IPC-A-610, work instructions, and ISO Procedures.

3. Run diagnostic tests on carious electronic components

4. Inspection of parts for defect before and after the production process to esure quality standards are met

5. Attention to detail.

6. Inspection for damage, missing, misplace and wrong used/mount resistors and capacitors and other different components

7. Problem solving- troubleshoot, identify and resolve issues, safety concerns.

8. Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action Processes, internal, external and supply chain.

9. Create, revise and manage Control Plans, PFMEAs and Work Instructions.

10. Following the process for each task to ensure consistent results.

11. Observing machines such as soldering irons, wave guns, or pick and place machines to apply components to boards or other surfaces.

12. Observing manufacturing processes to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently

13. Performing routine maintenance on inspection equipment to keep it functioning properly

14. Performing quality control checks on products to ensure they meet specifications

15. Other duties as assigned

Authority:

1. Troubleshooting

2. To stop production when a quality, safety or environmental issue has been identified.

3. Make decisions based upon experience, IPC Standards, specifications, drawings, ESD and instructions.

Computer Skills:

Ability to navigate with a high level of proficiency MS Suite presenting and performing comparative analysis of data via Powerpoint, Excel, Experience with ERP systems a plus and the aptitude to quickly learn and be proficient with a new system.

Full-time
