Scheduler - EPC Position Summary
The Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of a complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project. The Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, analyzing project progress, and working closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project milestones and deliverables. This includes schedule integration from multiple 3rd party sources of Engineering, Procurement, and Sub-Contractors.
Scheduler - EPC Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain integrated EPC schedules using Primavera P6.
Create detailed baseline schedules incorporating engineering deliverables, procurement activities, approval cycles, construction sequencing, and commissioning milestones.
Work with project stakeholders to identify schedule logic, constraints, and interfaces across disciplines.
Monitor project progress and update schedules with actual performance data, identifying variances and potential risks.
Provide schedule analysis, critical path analysis, and forecast project completion dates.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractors to validate schedule accuracy and feasibility.
Generate weekly and monthly schedule reports, dashboards, and recovery plans when required.
Facilitate routine 3-week lookahead sessions and reporting to support Construction.
Support earned value analysis and schedule risk assessments.
Participate in project meetings, presenting schedule status and mitigation recommendations.
Facilitate formal schedule risk analysis with key stakeholders and develop routine risk reporting.
Ensure scheduling practices align with contractual obligations and company procedures. Scheduler - EPC Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in scheduling large EPC or industrial construction projects.
Proficiency in Primavera P6; experience with MS Project or other tools is a plus.
Strong understanding of engineering workflows, procurement lead times, and field construction sequencing.
Knowledge of CPM (Critical Path Method), resource loading, and progress measurement techniques.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with earned value management (EVM) and schedule risk analysis is desirable.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to function effectively as a member of a team as well as independently. Scheduler - EPC Physical Demands
Overtime is required routinely. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds occasionally. Must have the ability to stand/walk frequently. This position is full-time onsite, which may require temporary travel for extended periods of time.
