Sales Territory Manager - Multiple Locations (Southwest, Southcentral, Southeast, Midwest, Northeast US)
Our client, a leading provider of high-quality sealing solutions for underground infrastructure products, is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for multiple locations. This role involves promoting products to contractors, manufacturers, and the engineering community, ensuring long-term business success. The position is flexible in location and will require at least 40%-70% travel. A company vehicle will be provided.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Sales Territory Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, expanding market share, and executing sales strategies in the assigned territory. This role requires a dynamic sales professional with a strong ability to engage clients, identify needs, and deliver tailored solutions that align with company objectives. The Sales Territory Manager will also play a key role in promoting and specifying products within the engineering community to foster long-term business success.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Customer Market Share & Growth: Maintain existing customer base while identifying new opportunities to grow market share for client's products.
Regional Market Understanding: Understand local market dynamics and factors impacting growth.
Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in target infrastructure accounts to support territorial expansion.
Product Promotion & Specification: Promote and specify products within the municipal, engineering, and contractor communities to drive awareness and preference.
Industry Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of underground infrastructure markets, manufacturers, civil contractors, engineers, and municipalities. Be able to navigate the buying path and decision-makers in the customer's product selection process.
Social Media Engagement: Develop and maintain an active social media presence to enhance brand visibility.
Technical Knowledge: Understand construction specifications and ASTM standards relevant to underground infrastructure.
Sales Strategy & Execution
Presentations & Demonstrations: Create and deliver technical presentations to potential customers.
Customer Engagement: Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations, and implement a strategic plan to ensure both short-term sales growth and long-term customer satisfaction.
Customer Needs Assessment: Identify and respond to customer needs with tailored product solutions and service offerings.
Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to spot growth opportunities and refine sales strategies.
Customer Relationship Management
Customer Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing post-sale support.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to enhance product offerings and improve the overall customer experience.
Sales Reporting & Performance Tracking
CRM Utilization: Use Salesforce CRM to track leads, manage customer interactions, and analyze sales performance.
Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service and Engineering Departments to ensure smooth operations.
Sales Reporting: Prepare and submit timely sales reports, outlining progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Sales Forecasting: Develop and track sales forecasts and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Professional Development & Market Representation
Industry Engagement: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to boost brand visibility and market positioning.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on best practices, new technologies, and market developments to improve sales effectiveness.
Qualifications
Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities with a technical approach to sales.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and communicate product details to various levels within organizations.
Web Navigation: Proficiency in navigating customer websites.
Strategic & Organizational Skills: Ability to think strategically, manage time effectively, and stay organized.
Independence & Alignment: Self-motivated, ethical, dependable, and results-driven with the ability to work independently while aligning with company goals.
Travel: Current valid driver's license with the ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
Passport Eligibility: Ability to obtain a passport and travel to Canada as required.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in the underground infrastructure or a technical market setting.
