Payroll Processing & Accuracy - Ensure timely and precise payroll execution, including auditing submitted hours, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, while responding professionally to internal customer inquiries.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits - Work alongside the Payroll Supervisor to uphold payroll policies and procedures, ensure alignment with benefit changes, participate in audits, and support reporting processes.
Payroll System Expertise - Act as the subject matter expert in payroll systems, collaborating with IT to troubleshoot issues, implement system updates, and optimize performance.
Data Management & Integrity - Maintain accurate payroll records by managing employee updates (hires, terminations, deductions, tax adjustments) and ensuring data integrity across automated systems.
Vendor and System Collaboration - Work with IT and external providers to implement payroll-related software, assess system upgrades, and enhance payroll system functionality.
Advanced Reporting & Analytics - Generate payroll reports, including statistical analyses and financial summaries, while responding timely to external audit inquiries. A successful candidate in this position will:
Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in automated payroll systems and software applications, particularly Excel and database tools.
Advanced proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
Strong understanding of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze technical and numerical data, identify discrepancies, and implement solutions.
Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written communication, capable of conveying complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot systems and technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Organization and Accuracy: Exceptional attention to detail, especially under time-sensitive conditions.
