Program Manager - SAGEPositive

SAGE is the country's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) older people. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resources to LGBTQ+ older people and their caregivers, advocates for public policy changes that address the needs of LGBTQ+ older people, provides education and technical assistance for aging providers and LGBTQ+ organizations through its National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging, and cultural competence training through SAGECare. SAGE supports a growing network of 70+ SAGECollab Partners across the country.
Who we need
The SAGEPositive Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of SAGEPositive, SAGE's program serving LGBTQ+ older adults living with and potentially impacted by HIV, as well as SAGE's Center for Sexual Wellness and Aging. The Program Manager is also responsible for planning programming and providing direct service to participants.
This position will report to the Director of Special Programs.
The responsibilities:
Work with the Director of Special Programs to create, produce and promote ongoing SAGEPositive programming at all SAGE Centers and at other venues throughout New York City on such topics as HIV and Aging, HIV and STI Prevention, Sexual Wellness, and HIV Benefits and Support Services
Engage potential community partners, consultants, and volunteers who can assist in SAGEPositive programming
Create and distribute promotional materials for SAGEPositive programs
Hold a caseload of approximately 10-15 clients living with or potentially impacted by HIV, which may increase with need
Perform new client and participant intakes, including administration of mental health screenings, and input client notes in appropriate databases
Conduct home visits as needed
Lead or co-lead support groups or other group activities, specifically as they relate to HIV and sexual wellness
Consult with Care Managers and Director of Special Programs around client situations and perform follow-up from participant/Director feedback
Refer clients to HIV-specific support programs such as HASA and ADAP
Present externally on SAGEPositive and the SAGE Center for Sexual Wellness and Aging at local and remote events
Work with the Director of Special Programs and the Development Department to submit proposals for new and renewed grant funding and meet grant deliverables
Collect and enter all client/participant service unit data and client notes in database(s) thoroughly and in a timely manner (by the end of each day), in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory mandates, as well as fulfilling all other reporting requirements
Process vendor invoices for financial reimbursements and collaborate with the Director of Special Programs and the Finance Department to ensure timely payments

Need-to-haves:
B.A. in social work or a related field, or sufficient salaried experience in a program manager role and/or with LGBTQ+ older adults living with HIV
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Flexible and dependable - this position requires a seven-hour workday, with an additional one hour for lunch; occasional evening or weekend hours will be required with advance notice
Ability to work independently as well as be an involved member of the Special Programs team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to organize files, reports, schedules, dates and information
Self-directed and able to work with light supervision
Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other pertinent software systems and data bases
Ability to travel throughout NYC via public transportation Nice-to-haves:
Background in program management
Experience in peer group facilitation
Outreach experience
Familiarity with issues of cultural and linguistic competency with regards to ability, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, gender identity and expression, and other characteristics that affect the lives of diverse older adults
Spanish/English bilingual preferred What we offer
The status: This is a permanent, full-time, regular, exempt position
The location and work schedule: Hybrid. ~35 hours per week, M-F 9:30-5:30pm. Occasional schedule adjustments may also be necessary, per program necessity
The salary range: $63,000-$67,000
