Job Title: Receiving Material Handler
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent Receiving Material Handler for our first shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for unloading merchandise using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand, and staging inbound merchandise in the scanning area. This role requires verification of pallet counts and signing freight bills of lading.
Responsibilities
Operate a handheld scanner to identify and sort merchandise by department.
Place correct receiving labels on products.
Restack and wrap products to prepare them for transport and stocking in appropriate locations.
Communicate any overages, shortages, and/or damages to the Supervisor.
Deliver scanned merchandise to appropriate staging areas throughout the warehouse.
Meet quality and productivity standards.
Take direction from Supervisor.
Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.
Adhere to DC housekeeping guidelines.Essential Skills
Proficiency in operating a forklift, RF scanner, and pallet jack.
Experience in material handling and unloading.
Ability to work with a sit-down forklift.
Inventory and shipping experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma preferred.
Commitment to high safety standards and compliance with safety policies.
Excellent attendance record.
Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed.
Good comprehension, organizational, and math skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management.
Ability to maintain accurate records and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Team player with a can-do attitude.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rome, New YorPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
