Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. This entry-level position involves running forklifts, front end loaders, and performing general laborer work. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality-conscious unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities to or from barges, railcars, trucks, and storage facilities. Your work should consistently meet or exceed the expectations of your supervisor and adhere to published policies and procedures. As an operator, you will be assigned specific duties in warehousing under the close supervision of the lead operator or supervisor. You may also be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations at the terminals. Extensive training will be provided in railcar, truck, warehousing, bagging, vessel operations, safety, and environmental practices. Additionally, you will assist in bulk material transfer, bagging, storage, general maintenance, and housekeeping activities.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment efficiently and safely.

Unload and load bulk and packaged commodities from barges, railcars, trucks, and storage facilities.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Assist in bulk material transfer, bagging, storage, and general maintenance activities.

Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Meet or exceed the expectations of supervisors and adhere to published policies and procedures.

Work under the close supervision of lead operators or supervisors.Essential Skills

2+ years of forklift experience.

Experience with front-end loaders.

Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, and skid steers.

Knowledge of construction and excavation equipment operation.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with mini excavators or cranes is a huge plus.

Good excavator experience is beneficial for future crane operations.

Ability to adapt to various tasks and responsibilities in terminal operations.Work Environment

This position involves working outside in dirty, muddy, and dusty conditions. The standard work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
