Job Description

As a CNC Programmer, you will evaluate and complete tasks based on tooling specifications, sketches, and observations. Your role requires extensive knowledge of tooling practices, machine applications, and precision measurement instruments. You will troubleshoot tooling issues, adjust or replace standard tooling, perform welding and brazing operations, instruct tool grinders, and receive training. You will maintain productive relationships and contribute to a safe, clean, and orderly work area.

Responsibilities

Evaluate work based on tooling specifications, sketches, and observations

Troubleshoot tooling issues and adjust or replace standard tooling

Perform welding and brazing operations on production tools

Instruct tool grinders and receive training from facilitators

Maintain cooperative and productive relationships with employees

Encourage and assist in self-improvement

Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area

Follow safety regulations and contribute to workplace safetyEssential Skills

Extensive knowledge of tooling practices

Expertise in machine applications

Proficiency with precision measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers)

Ability to read blueprints

3-5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer

Experience with manual machinists, lathes, grinders, surface grinders ID/ODAdditional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Basic knowledge of measuring instruments (mics, calipers, scopes)

Knowledge of heat treating and cutting tools

Experience with HAAS CNC

Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals)

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Effective communication skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume)

Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts

Problem-solving skills with concrete variables

Ability to interpret instructions in various forms (written, oral, diagram, schedule)Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Training on the first shift (7am to 3pm) typically lasts around 2 months. The second shift runs from 3pm to 11:30pm with a flexible schedule and potential for 5-10 hours of overtime. The team currently works a straight 40-hour week with potential Saturday shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
