Job Title: Weld and Fabrication Quality Coordinator
Job Description
The Manufacturing Quality Coordinator ensures products meet industry standards and codes by inspecting, testing, and measuring materials and products. This role involves maintaining records and collaborating with other departments to resolve quality issues.
Responsibilities
Aid in the functioning of the Manufacturing quality program, including quality procedures, processes, standards, training, planning, and documentation.
Review drawings and fabrication documentation for discrepancies and assist in determining the proper quality procedures and processes to apply.
Monitor internal and external quality and adherence to designated manufacturing processes, documentation, and procedures.
Assist in monitoring and verifying weld procedures and weld qualifications.
Perform product quality inspections including receiving, fit-up, in-process, and final inspections.
Document all inspections in detail using individualized inspection forms.
Provide quality direction to craftsmen, supervisors, and managers to complete assigned projects on time and accurately.
Assist in directing rework of projects and ensure quality workmanship standards.
Assist in identifying and resolving non-conformances following proper protocol and procedures.
Assist in training and guiding employees in quality techniques and processes.
Assure quality control of assigned projects, follow methods of continuous improvement, and communicate with supervision to understand project scope and proper procedures.
Ensure compliance to applicable AWS codes as determined per project.
Maintain calibration of shop tools and document calibration reports.
Ensure a clean and organized workspace and adhere to safety policies.
Ensure measuring devices, gauges, and instruments are calibrated and certified.
Work independently and travel for project quality completion as necessary.Essential Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1-3 years of manufacturing/fabrication inspection experience required.
Experience in welding techniques and processes such as GMAW, FCAW, MCAW, SAW, GTAW, and SMAW in the short circuit and spray transfer processes required.
Capability to perform and teach quality welding techniques at an advanced level.
Ability to analyze and interpret various weld defects and the correction of each.
Ability to read, understand, and apply weld procedures.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints required.
Ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, various layout tools, micrometers, dial indicators, weld gauges, and various basic calibration standards.
Excellent communication skills and leadership abilities.
Ability to plan and prioritize projects and stay on schedule.Additional Skills & Qualifications
5 plus years of welding and fabricating experience preferred.
Experience in vessel design and pressure vessel fabrication.

Work Environment
The work environment is a fab and weld shop. Employees may be exposed to extremes in temperature, hazardous or moving equipment, loud noises, and crowded environments. The role may involve working at elevations of up to 60 feet. Non-exempt and part-time employees may be asked to work extra hours as necessary, with overtime paid for hours worked beyond 40 hours a week. The physical strength requirement includes lifting up to 50 pounds.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
