Job Title: Production Planner/SchedulerShift: Day shift, Monday - FridayLocation: Aerospace Machine Shop
Overview:
The Production Planner/Scheduler works with various areas and levels of the machine shop to manage the flow of production and materials to ensure all customer demands are met.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with all departments (engineering, manufacturing, procurement, etc.) to provide scheduling information and obtain necessary inputs for an accurate schedule.
Ensure programs are ready when machining needs to start by working with programming.
Coordinate interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, etc.
Confirm material supply and demands.
Schedule and expedite the movement of parts as required to meet customer needs.
Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyze production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems.
Locate parts/work orders within the manufacturing facility and move parts to subsequent operations as required to minimize delay through the process.
Coordinate execution of the master schedule pertaining to assigned material.
Identify, communicate, and mitigate obstacles to meeting the schedule with necessary stakeholders.
Work with internal and procurement teams to understand and communicate needs and ensure data within planning systems accurately reflect expectations.
Assist manufacturing personnel in expediting parts to completion.
Distribute and maintain reports of necessary data to ensure effective communication within the department and other dependent personnel and departments.Qualifications/Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred; High School diploma/GED required.
3+ years of prior experience in a Production Planning or Scheduling role preferred.
Proficient in standard business application software and manufacturing/enterprise resource planning systems; ShopTech E2 (Jobboss2) experience is a plus.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to learn customized software and products quickly.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
General understanding of machining and material specifications.
Ability to manage small projects/programs with limited assistance from others.
Experience in an AS9100 environment is a plus.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, but take ownership of responsible areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, Alabama.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
