Experienced Low Voltage Technician - Join the JSET Automated Technologies Team

JSET Automated Technologies is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team! We specialize in low-voltage controls and communications, focusing on the installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical building management systems for commercial and industrial projects in the Columbus area. Position: Low Voltage Technician

As a Low Voltage Technician at JSET, you will be responsible for executing complex low-voltage installations and ensuring systems are properly configured, tested, and commissioned. Key responsibilities include:

Installing and connecting low-voltage electrical systems, including wiring and cables for data, telecommunications, and control systems.

Configuring systems based on blueprints, schematics, and other technical guides.

Installing and terminating various types of control wiring, including CAT5/6, coaxial, and fiber optics.

Installing electrical conduit, raceways, and enclosures, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of low-voltage systems to ensure optimal performance.

Collaborating with other team members and trades to ensure successful project completion.

Performing overhead work and operating lifts safely to install equipment and cables.

What You Need to Succeed:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in low-voltage systems installation, specifically with structured cabling and related systems.

In-depth knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, including CAT5/6, coaxial, fiber optic cabling, and control wiring.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Strong experience with terminating and testing cables (fiber optics and copper).

Familiarity with industry standards and codes (EIA, TIA, BICSI, NEC) and a commitment to maintaining compliance.

Comfort with overhead installations and working at heights.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality work.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds independently.
