Description A Brief Overview Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan.

Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a complex medical equipment technologies and systems under minimal supervision of healthcare technology management (HTM) Supervisor and/or senior professionals.What You Will DoAssesses, monitors, and functionalizes inventory management processes to ensure locations business data attributes, and detail associated to operational and safety management.Repairs and maintains a wide variety of general medical equipment to include high risk and critical care biomedical equipment.Performs scheduled and nonscheduled PM checks on general biomedical equipment to include high risk and critical care biomedical equipment.

• Central monitoring • Gas modules • OR equipment • ETCAssist Department in the Capital planning process.Provide intermate level technical support to clinical staff.Provide technical assistance and support to HTM I.Intermediate knowledge of cyber security risk and requirements.Documents all activities as outlined within UH policies and procedure.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.Qualifications EducationAssociate's Degree military Training (Biomedical Engineering/Technology) (Required) and academic work aligned with AAMI’s Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician.

(Required) Work Experience3+ years of biomedical equipment maintenance and/or service experience (Required) or 3+ years experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturer.

(Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Possesses basic understanding and skills related to general electromechanical systems and devise.

(Required proficiency) Basic Electronics and/or Electro-mechanical knowledge; (Required proficiency) General information Technology System Knowledge (Computer Repair, Application Installation, Networking, and security mitigation); (Required proficiency) Administrative and documentation Skills.

(Required proficiency) Exhibits a basic understanding of medical device clinical application and utilization of general medical devices within assigned clinical setting.

(Required proficiency) Familiar with the operations and environment to ensure a safe environment is attained (hospital, ambulatory, administrative, HTM Service Center, etc.). (Required proficiency) Provides timely communication to clinical users on the status of their technology.

(Required proficiency) General understanding of compliance with local and national regulatory requirements.

(Required proficiency) Able to effectively communicate and solve customer service issues.

(Required proficiency) Demonstrates a basic understanding of medical devices and equipment (biomedical.

radiological, laboratory and network medical systems) used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

(Required proficiency) Understanding of documentation requirements for maintaining and repairing medical devices and performs actions as assigned.

(Required proficiency) Performs scheduled maintenance, equipment safety inspections, as aligned to procedures.

(Required proficiency) Assesses, determines, and initiates appropriate remediation for medical equipment to meet organization’s objectives.

(Required proficiency) Stays current on medical device technology applications and technical function through self and formal education.

(Required proficiency) Adheres to all policies, procures and competency traits for the position.
