Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.\n\n Requirements \n\n\n\tAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required\n\tRadiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA\n\tBasic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required\n\tFluoroscopy license in state of employment: Preferred\n\tAssociate's Degree in radiological technology: Preferred\n\n\n Essential Functions\n\n\n\tPerforms screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.

Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.

Prepares equipment for use as needed.

Prepares examination rooms for patient exams.

Positions patients for imaging exams.

Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.\n\tProduces diagnostic images.

Documents exam information.
