Your responsibilities will include performing mammography procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

As a Radiologic Technologist at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, you will play a crucial role in our commitment to providing accurate diagnostic imaging services while maintaining a patient-centered approach.

Your responsibilities will include operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.\n\n ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n\tPerform mammography imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.\n\tObtain patient medical history, prior imaging of breasts along with reports and verify patient identification and consent prior to performing procedures.\n\tPosition patients correctly and operate mammography equipment to obtain high-quality images of breast tissue.\n\tMonitor patients during imaging procedures and address any concerns or discomfort.\n\tMaintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.

Including required records to maintain FDA certification.\n\tCollaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret imaging results.\n\tAdhere to all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.\n\tMaintain and perform QA on mammography equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality control.\n\tPerforms all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

\n\tPractices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.

\n\tProvides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.

\n\tParticipate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in breast imaging technology and best practices.\n\tPerform diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment according to established protocols and physician orders.\n\tEnsure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns.\n\tMaintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.\n\tCollaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret imaging results\n\tAdhere to all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.\n\tMaintain and perform QA on X-ray equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality control.\n\tPractices good medical and surgical aseptic techniques.\n\tProvides care appropriate to condition and age of patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.\n\tParticipate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices.\n\n \n\n MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\n\nEducation / Experience / License and Certifications\n\n\n\tCompletion of an accredited radiologic technology program, required.\n\tRegistered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).\n\tCertified by the State of Wyoming to practice and administer radiation.\n\tProficiency in operating digital x-ray equipment.\n\tExperience in a hospital setting or healthcare.\n\tCurrent BLS certification, required.\n\n \n\n Department Specific Education / Experience / License and Certifications\n\n\n\tStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.\n\tAttention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.\n\tFlexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.\n\n \n\n Additional Skills\n\n\n\tAbility to read and communicate effectively in English.\n\tAdditional languages preferred.\n\tBasic computer knowledge.\n\tWorking knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.\n\tKnowledge of general anatomy and physiology\n\n\n Specific demands not listed: Possible exposure to blood and or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
