Description Part-time - \n Every Weekend - Day shift \n A Brief Overview\n Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens.
Provides laboratory support functions.\n What You Will Do\n\nOrganizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.\nPerforms computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy\nProcesses specimens for laboratory testing.\n\n Additional Responsibilities\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nComplies with all policies and standards.\nFor specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.\nMust abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.\nQualifications EducationHigh School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program (preferred) (Preferred) Work Experienceless than 1 year Entry level (step increase upon successful completion of competencies after training is complete - 6 months minimum) (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers.
Takes responsibility for self-development Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures.
