As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Operations Technology, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams and overseeing daily implementation activities. Your role includes identifying and escalating issues, ensuring your team's work aligns with compliance standards, meets business requirements, and follows tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.

Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.

Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.

Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.

Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation.

Partners with leadership team for driving NFR, Modernization initiatives and controls.

Actively participate in the design, development, and review of code to ensure high-quality software solutions.

Write, test, and maintain code as needed to support project goals and deadlines.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on leading technology projects concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.

8+ years of Java software development experience with at least 2 years of experience in a management or leadershp role.

Working experience in Java, React, and cloud technologies like AWS.

Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists.

Advanced in one or more programming language(s) like Java, Python etc.

Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

Practical cloud native experience such as AWS.

Experience managing vendor relationships, driving them to deliver while fostering and collaborative partnership.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience working at code level.

Experience with AI, preferably with LLM and Generative solutions.
