Location: Lafayette, IN

Full-Time Onsite Long-Term Temporary (Potential to Become Permanent)

Salary: $70,000â $105,000/year (Based on Experience)

Job Summary:

Pro Resources is hiring a Mechanical/Controls Engineer for a long-term temporary opportunity with a leading automotive component manufacturer in Lafayette, IN. This facility specializes in steering components for the automotive industry. While the assignment is expected to run through late 2026, it may become a permanent position if the candidate is open to future relocation.

This is a hands-on support role, focused on maintaining and optimizing existing automation and control systemsâ not on new project launches. The ideal candidate will help ensure smooth production and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time support for automated manufacturing and assembly systems

Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and control system issues

Maintain and update PLC/HMI software (including debugging and backups)

Collaborate with maintenance and engineering on process enhancements

Assist in technical documentation and process optimization

Support efficiency and uptime through cost-effective solutions

Qualifications:

Bachelorâ s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (Masterâ s preferred)

2â 3 years of automotive manufacturing experience required

Proficiency with:

Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, RSLogix 500/5000

HMI: RSView ME/SE, PanelView Plus

LabVIEW and C++

Familiarity with robotics and vision systems is a plus

Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience in fast-paced environments

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Position Details:

Schedule: Day shift, Mondayâ Friday

Location: Onsite in Lafayette, IN

Potential to convert to a permanent role with relocation

Pay: Based on experience
