Job Overview:
The Assistant General Service Manager (AGSM) will play a critical role in supporting the General Service Manager with day-to-day operations of the plumbing and HVAC departments. The AGSM will ensure that business operations run smoothly, maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, and work collaboratively with our team to promote a culture of excellence. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both plumbing and HVAC services, experience in managing teams, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the plumbing and HVAC departments.
Manage and mentor staff, including technicians, installers, and administrative teams.
Coordinate scheduling, service delivery, and quality control to ensure optimal efficiency.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Maintain inventory levels and manage ordering of supplies and equipment.
Review and approve service quotes, work orders, and job cost estimates.
Monitor and manage department budgets and financials.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
Handle escalated customer service issues and resolve conflicts effectively.
Support the recruitment, training, and professional development of staff.
Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to support business growth.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in plumbing and HVAC operations, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, service delivery, and industry standards.
Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Experience with financial management, including budgeting and P&L oversight.
Valid plumbing or HVAC certification (preferred).
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
