Shift Hours: Second Shift M-F 2:30 to 11pm

Key Objective

As a Flexographic Press Operator, you will play a vital role in creating some of the best labels in the country. You will set up and efficiently run a servo-driven narrow web Flexographic Digital Hybrid Press, performing traditional flexographic printing and die-cutting to convert prime labels.

Responsibilities

Operate Flexo press to produce jobs according to specifications. (Experience is a must.)

Prepare the press for printing and die-cutting.

Load substrate, install tooling, mount plates, set print impression, and adjust the press.

Ensure that substrate, ink, and tooling meet the required specifications.

Adjust ink distribution, speed, and temperature in the drying chamber.

Troubleshoot and correct print issues quickly to minimize downtime and material waste.

Perform routine maintenance, including oiling, cleaning, and minor repairs.

Mount and/or remount plates (as needed).

Mix inks (as needed).

Complete start-up checklists for all jobs run.

Set up and operate press for production.

Record stock usage.

Use strobe and/or video web monitor for in-process inspection.

Flag defective labels for rewind/inspection.

Use spectrophotometer and densitometer (as required).

Tag finished product for traceability.

Complete required paperwork upon job completion.

Competency Requirements

Pass color perception test

Ability to read a ruler and perform basic math skills with a calculator

Ability to assist in basic press maintenance

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Experience

1 – 3 years of experience with flexographic printing
