Overview:
The Applications / Test Specialist is responsible for design verification testing of newly developed product including functional, performance, compatibility and application testing of all hardware and software components. In Addition, the Applications / Test Specialist is responsible for validating component and design changes / upgrades to existing product and ensuring design standards are maintained by providing quality audits of existing inventory.
The Applications / Test Specialist is responsible for creating, validating and supporting advanced application designs. The Applications / Test Specialist works with Technical Services, Sales and FSEs to support high profile and advanced projects. The Applications / Test Specialist works with Technical Services to resolve customer and product problem escalations and provides field support when required. The position works cross-functionally with the Development, Operations, Technical Services and Sales teams.
Key areas of responsibility:
Tests new product prior to releasing to market for fit, purpose and user experience and reports results to management
Develop test plans and coordinate testing of assigned projects.
Setup test environments to mimic customer applications
Tests newly manufactured and pre-released products for performance and adherence to quality standards.
Enters accurate information to capture and reproduce problems in bug tracking system
Active participant in bug reviews, product planning meetings, and team meetings
Works directly with Engineering to assist with setup and replication of issues.
Generate documents and drawings as required to support product application design requests
Assist and handle escalations from Technical Services Specialists
Provide technical and applications training to Technical Services, FSEs and Corporate Trainer on newly released products.
Handle overflow calls for tech support and sales as needed.
Tracking all activities via Salesforce; Conversations, e-mails, follow up
Works with Product Management to provide improvements and suggestions
Perform product quality audits and testing
On-site support for troubleshooting, configuration, design surveys and commissioning
Pursue continuing education via AVIXA, Syn-Aud-Con, local colleges, APMM, etc
Reviews Manuals, Data sheets, and other sales and marketing materials for technical content accuracy and completeness
Proactively keep management and project team informed by providing regular status of assigned projects, tasks and customer escalations
The Applications Engineer shall uphold and execute the company brand, values, philosophy, ethics, culture and integrity with all they conduct business with. This includes but is not limited to dealers, consultants, distributors, vendors, customers, employees and fellow Listen employees

Key Performance Indicators:
Product releases that have little or no problems that occur that were not identified in the testing process
Listen is recognized as the application and product expert on all technologies supported by Listen products including RF, IR, Hearing Loop and WiFi.
Accuracy and completeness of information, generated documents, and communication
Professional growth via continuing education updating personal development records
Completion of assigned duties
Continued improvement of technical skills and product knowledge
Projects are completed on time
Qualifications:
Must have passion for Listen solutions
Must be motivated, a self-starter and be able to work with limited management direction
Must be able to be effective in working in a cross functional role
Must have a technical background sufficient to support the responsibilities of the job description
Technical Degree or 2 years equivalent work experience
Electronics and computer networking experience preferred
Excellent customer service skills
Good problem solving abilities
Experience working with test equipment such as audio test sets, oscilloscopes, and various meters.
Computer literate (including Microsoft Office Suite)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and take on added responsibility
Ability to multi-task
Willing and able to travel with short notice
Willing to work outdoors in a variety of conditions as needed to validate product performance and limitations
