Experienced Trauma APP Needed in Corpus Christi, TX
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Orthopedic Trauma team. This position involves managing patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries in both inpatient and outpatient settings, assisting in surgical procedures, and collaborating closely with orthopedic surgeons, residents, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical exams, with a focus on orthopedic trauma cases.
First-assist in orthopedic trauma surgeries.
Manage pre-operative and post-operative care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans.
Perform procedures such as splinting, casting, wound care, and joint aspiration/injections.
Educate patients and families regarding injury, treatment plans, and rehabilitation.
Coordinate care with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other specialties as needed.
Participate in trauma call coverage alongside supervising physicians.Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Certification by the NCCPA or AANP.
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Texas.
BLS and ACLS certification (ATLS is a plus).
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in orthopedic surgery or trauma preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical rotations in orthopedics are encouraged to apply.Skills & Competencies:
