Job Summary
We are seeking a Data Engineer to help elevate our understanding of our data to the next level. This unique position requires a balance of technical expertise and leadership skills. You will join a small team focused on enabling our business to make strong decisions based on our data, and enable our customers to understand how their products perform on our platform. This role will give you the opportunity to set the future direction of our team by strategically investing in new technologies, and bringing more data into our warehouse. You will be successful in this role if you thrive when you’re able to own a problem from discovery through development, and if you enjoy setting up new patterns and paradigms to set our team up for success in the future.

Duties / Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate and understand complex business activities, technical requirements, and recommendations to the relevant stakeholders
Own our data infrastructure to ensure our business and clients have reliable access to high quality data
Build data pipelines to connect our platform with our customers catalogs, logistics partners, as well as external platforms we use to manage our business
Identify opportunities to expand our data capabilities through new technologies and tools
Be an active participant in developing the engineering roadmap to define the future of our data stack
Assess and compare potential AI/ML tools and determine how they can bring value to our business
Requirements:
>5 years of professional experience
Thrived at early stage startups and experience with spinning up new data capabilities
You’re confident writing SQL and can navigate and contribute to a dbt project with ease
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining API data pipelines and integrations with other systems
You’ve worked as a full stack engineer for web applications before, and understand how core database schema changes impact downstream consumers
You know your way around machine learning tech and large language models
You’re familiar with the challenges that an eCommerce platform faces in terms of the data that buyers need to make decisions, and have experience building data models to support this business

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
