What’s the Job?
Establish cost effective plastic molding processes with high quality standards
Provide technical support for the daily molding operations
Develop comprehensive programs to support future growth
Reading part drawings and perform first piece inspections
Ability to develop/prepare process data sheets
Initiate and/or lead process improvement teams in reducing cycle times, scrap reduction, set-up reduction, etc.
Support and train mold technicians to ensure continuous improvement of mold changeover times and the production of quality product
Ability to troubleshoot process problems with materials, tooling, process, or equipment using DOE’s
Perform process design, develop preliminary process flow diagrams and process FMEAs
What’s Needed?
Engineering Degree with experience in plastics preferred or a two-year Associate technical degree in addition to extensive experience in plastic molding technology
5 years of industrial experience in injection molding products and processes
Flexible to adjust work schedule to support 2nd and 3rd shift operations as required
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
A thorough knowledge of plastic materials and their processing requirements
Knowledge of injection molding machines and their function
Highly motivated self-starter and team player with positive attitude
Ability to read part prints and to understand tolerance requirements and specifications
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office software and Windows operating system along with the ability to learn new systems
General knowledge of robotics, automation and downstream equipment used in the injection molding process
