Job Description
Supervises production employees in a manufacturing environment. Plans and assigns work, implements and enforces company policies and procedures while recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Manage the activities of the production floor by following established procedures and approved processes. Supervise all production operations such as machining, processing and assembly.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Motivates employees and assists with problem solving. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
Tracks employee performance, attendance, and time keeping. Conducts performance reviews, discipline, accident investigations, etc. Use technical expertise to train employees and develop most efficient methods of production.
Responsible for staffing the department and planning workload.
Work harmoniously with other departments and functional units in the coordination of work to drive productivity, providing a good example to employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:
High School Diploma or at least 5 years Manufacturing Supervisory experience. (Or the equivalent in relevant GSP experience.)
Must have prior manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, equipment, production scheduling and operations.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and customer specifications.
Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Time management, multitasking.
Problem solving and analysis skills.
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
Computer skills, MS Office, Manufacturing software, etc
