Job Description
The role focuses on developing and implementing In-Circuit Tests (ICT) for PCBAs while also innovating new test methodologies to support the integration of emerging technologies. This position requires collaboration within the framework of the Quality Management (QM) System, ensuring Variosystems meets both general and company-specific quality standards and drives continuous growth and improvement.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Determine Design for Test (DFT) specifications and coordinate with engineering staff on new product design.
Develop and implement ICT & Flying Probe Test programs in accordance with product specifications, and quality standards.
Experience with PCBA functional hardware testing and Structural In-circuit Testing (e.g., Teradyne, Agilent platforms, or Flying Probe systems).
Provide quotes for ICT test fixtures and programming, estimate resources and costs for test equipment development, and generate technical documentation.
Strong electrical knowledge and experience with digital, analog, power, and high-voltage circuits.
Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.
Develop and refine product test strategies, including test specifications and programs.
General understanding of system design software architecture (C#, LabView, TestStand etc)
Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers for new product introduction (NPI) projects.
Provide hands-on supervision and support for manufacturing prototypes.
Troubleshoot and solve manufacturing/quality issues to improve production efficiency.
Train production testing staff on test processes, equipment use, and maintenance.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in PCB testing and troubleshootin
4+ years of test development experience, understanding of electrical and electronic circuits, including digital, analog, power, and high voltage systems.
Ability to work with flying probe test systems (SPEA preferred).
SPEA and Teradyne ICT test equipment experience (preferred)
Troubleshoot any issues related to ICT & Flying Probe tester, fixtures, or test fallout.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electronic schematics.
Experience in developing and maintaining test strategies for electronic systems.
Support test implementation (provide training of production test personnel)
Manage, oversee and maintenance of test equipment (e.g. ECO/ECN implementation)
High-level communication skills, both verbal and written.
