Job Description
Brax Company is seeking a pump mechanic with a knowledge of pumps or a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Pump tear down and inspection.
Repair or replacement of failed parts
Diagnosis of equipment failures
Maintain a clean workspace and warehouse
Knowledge of hand, power and air operated tools.
Cleaning, assembly & painting of new pumps
Perform responsibilities with little to no supervision and/or assistance when required.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education & Experience:
Mechanical knowledge of Pumps, motors, couplings and seals.
Understanding of a variety of pumps including but not limited to: Centrifugal, Gear, Pistons, Turbines, Split Cases, Submersibles.
Welding & fabricating
Basic electrical knowledge.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools & precision measuring instruments.
Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow safety procedures & regulations
Demonstrated ability to act in a self-directed manner with no immediate supervision.
Physical Requirements:
* Includes climbing ladders, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds.
*Typical schedule is 7:30AM to 4:00PM and overtime can be required.
*Must be willing to work inside and outside as required.
