Provide advanced expertise, and support to SRNS operations to resolve very broad to abstract technical issues having division and/or site wide implications. Specific support provided will differ according to assignment, but will generally include directing, planning, developing, implementing, and administering technical operations related programs. Insure technical aspects of operations or maintenance programs are in compliance with governing directives.

Responsible for directing, planning, developing, implementing, and budgeting for various technical functions in support of the pre-conceptual design, construction, and start up of process and testing facilities. Interface and negotiate with vendors to resolve equipment, services, staffing, and technical related issues. Evaluate and analyze equipment, instruments, and procedures needed to upgrade operations programs. Evaluate, test, and procure new equipment and instruments in support of assigned operations programs. Insure technical aspects of operations programs are in compliance with applicable laws, standards, and DOE Orders. Develop operating procedures and training programs to train less qualified technicians on various types of equipment and instruments. Serve on various committees regarding standardization of equipment, instrumentation, processes, and training in support of SRNS and DOE operations programs. Direct daily activity of less qualified technicians and serve as an area point of contact for the most complex technical issues.

Basic Education Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical, or mechanical area preferred
