Overview
You will be the Advanced Algorithm Developer for our Navigation, Tracking, and Image Processing team. Our team is responsible for developing innovative algorithms for inertial tracking, and this role will focus on creating complex solutions for our missiles and fire control products.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Advanced Algorithm Developer, you will be responsible for developing inertial tracking algorithms, including extended and unscented Kalman filtering, non-linear state estimation, and multi-sensor fusion. You will also develop complex models and simulations, evaluate system performance, and verify system and subsystem level requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing inertial tracking algorithms, such as Kalman filtering and Gaussian mixture models
- Creating complex models and simulations to evaluate system performance
- Verifying system and subsystem level requirements
- Presenting technical material to internal leadership and external customers
- Collaborating with a team of subject matter experts to develop and implement algorithm solutions

Basic Qualifications
• Degree(s) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar
• Professional experience and demonstrated proficiency in math as it relates to Kalman filtering, optimal state estimation, linear algebra, probability and statistics, and multivariate calculus
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and analyzing algorithms related to inertial tracking
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Matlab, Python
**Interim Secret Clearance is needed prior to start therefore you must be a US Citizen.
Desired skills
• Strong programming skills that can translate to C++ development in a Linux environment
• Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements
• Experience deploying complex algorithms in embedded systems
• Experience developing algorithms using artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI/ML) techniques
• Knowledge of electro-optical/infrared detection (EOIR) technology, optics, and principles of radiometry
• Familiarity with clutter rejection techniques
• Knowledge and experience with modeling and simulation of EOIR systems
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and analyzing algorithms related to navigation and image processing

Ability to work remotely
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $118,700 - $209,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
