BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Computer Engineer to join our Tactical Mobile (TacMobile) team. As a Computer Engineer, you will support the NIWC Atlantic TacMobile Program with the sustainment of existing fielded configurations and the development and fielding of future capabilities for TacMobile sites (USN and FMS customers).
About the Role:
We are looking for a talented Computer Engineer to design, develop, and test computer hardware, software, and network systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the success of our TacMobile program by providing technical expertise and support to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test computer hardware, software, and network systems
Perform system integration and ensure compatibility across various platforms
Provide technical support for systems and equipment, including test and evaluation for C5ISR requirements
Implement and support virtualization and information assurance/network protection projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and security
Develop technical documentation and procedures to enhance system usability and compliance
Conduct systems analysis and propose improvements based on testing and evaluation results
Develop guidance for to-be tenant applications to ensure compatibility with TacMobile systems
Provide engineering expertise to support Systems Integration Test and Evaluation (SITE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts for the TacMobile program
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other contractor teammates and customers daily
Work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner
Attend and actively participate in team meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination

The successful candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline to include but not limited to Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems.
7 years professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
Experience implementing multi-tenant Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Kubernetes to support deployment of tenant Open Container Initiative (OCI)-compliant applications.
Experience integrating container registry systems (e.g. Harbor, ECR, ACR, Sonotype) with container push/pull systems (e.g. Carvel Tools, Podman, Docker), container security (e.g. Trivy) and Kubernetes management (e.g. vCF Kubernetes, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, OpenShift).
Understanding of the technical constraints of DoD and tactical environments.
Certifications:
Preferred Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM) or Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), or
Vendor/platform-specific certifications, such as:
Microsoft role-based certifications (e.g., MCAD, MCDBA).
Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP).
CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP).
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Administrator).
Demonstrated experience with best test practices, including formal, requirements-based testing.
Ability to effectively communicate via oral, and written communications with senior management and technical staff.
