Position Overview

Gifthealth is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our growing Human Resources team, with a specialized focus on benefits administration, leave and disability management, workers’ compensation, and broader HR compliance and project support. This role will work closely with our HR team and support cross-functional collaboration across all areas of HR. How You’ll Help Us Improve Healthcare

Benefits Administration

Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life, 401(k), etc.).

Coordinate annual open enrollment process, including employee communications and system updates.

Serve as primary liaison between employees and benefit providers, resolving issues and answering inquiries.

Ensure benefits compliance (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA) and maintain accurate records, including regular benefit audits.

Leave, Disability & Accommodation Management

Administer FMLA, STD/LTD, ADA, and other leave-of-absence programs and accommodation requests.

Track and manage leave & accommodation cases, coordinating with third-party vendors, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders.

Provide guidance to managers and employees on leave eligibility, documentation requirements, and return-to-work processes.

Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding leave and accommodations.

Workers’ Compensation Management

Serve as the point of contact for work-related injuries and workers’ comp claims.

Coordinate with our TPA and MCO to manage claims, ensure timely reporting, and facilitate return-to-work programs.

Monitor trends and support safety initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders.

HR Projects & Compliance

Participate in various HR projects and initiatives as assigned (e.g., policy updates, audits, system implementations).

Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Assist with documentation and process improvements across assigned HR functions.

Cross-Training & Support

Cross-train in other areas of HR including talent acquisition, new-hire administration, onboarding, and HRIS data management.

Provide backup support during team absences and collaborate on shared HR processes.

A Few Things About You

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.

Experience: 4+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally with a focus in benefits, leave, and/or compliance.

Skills:

Experience administering employer benefit programs

Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, etc.).

Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms; strong Excel and data management skills.

Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) is a plus.

Work Location: Ability to work in-person at one of our offices in Columbus, OH. A work-from-home option is available on a hybrid basis following training with at least 2-3 days in office per week.
