Senior Process Engineer Naperville, IL
We’re searching for a hands-on engineering leader to design, install, and optimize compounding systems for personal care product manufacturing. This role is ideal for an experienced process engineer with a strong background in liquid handling, batching, blending, unloading systems, and process controls.
You’ll oversee projects that drive the compounding side of manufacturing operations—designing unloading stations, piping systems, mixing equipment, and utilities needed to produce high-quality personal care products. Compensation:
Base salary range of $90K - $115K, plus a performance-based bonus

What You’ll Own
Lead engineering projects related to compounding and process systems, including unloading operations, liquid storage, batching, blending, and mixing
Oversee system design, installation, commissioning, and improvements for liquid and semi-liquid personal care manufacturing processes
Develop and review process flow diagrams, piping layouts, and P&ID documentation
Implement and improve systems supporting facility utilities, CIP processes, ingredient handling, and batching controls
Partner closely with manufacturing, procurement, and technical teams to deliver safe, efficient, and scalable production systems
Manage project budgets, schedules, scope, and deliverables from initial design through operational handoff
Ensure compliance with industry standards for personal care manufacturing and support documentation for maintenance, validations, and operating procedures
Conduct root cause analyses for deviations, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Stay current on best practices in compounding technology, automation, and process innovation to bring new ideas to the facility
What You Bring
BS degree in Engineering required; Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
3–7+ years of experience designing and implementing compounding, blending, or batching systems, preferably in the personal care, cosmetics, or food/beverage industry
Strong expertise in liquid handling systems, piping networks, batching/blending controls, and utility support systems
Experience developing and auditing P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process flow diagrams
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and GMPs for personal care product manufacturing
Demonstrated project management skills, able to oversee multiple concurrent projects
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; SAP system knowledge a plus
Ability to provide hands-on support during equipment installation, commissioning, and production scale-up (up to 40% site-based support as needed)
