Inventory Control Supervisor - Columbus, NE

Summary:

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse within a fast-paced corn processing facility. This role ensures efficient handling, storage, and shipment of raw materials, while maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Inventory Control Supervisor leads a team of warehouse personnel, ensuring proper training, productivity, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

Specific Job Duties

Learn, analyze, and evaluate existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, recommend, and implement solutions by applying data driven decision making.

Oversee daily warehouse operations including the receiving, storage, staging, and shipping of materials, and packaging.

Supervise warehouse staff to ensure efficient loading/unloading, inventory rotation, and accurate order fulfillment.

Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Inventory, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless flow of materials and timely shipments.

Monitor proper handling and storage of materials including bulk products, hazardous materials, and temperature-sensitive items.

Ensure accurate documentation and system entries for all inbound and outbound materials in ERP or warehouse management systems.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and plant safety regulations.

Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce proper use of PPE, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

Train, coach, and evaluate warehouse team members to ensure adherence to SOPs, safety guidelines, and performance standards.

Manage and troubleshoot issues related to shipment delays, damaged goods, or supply shortages.

Assist with physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies in coordination with Inventory Control.

Maintain daily logs, shipping records, and warehouse reports for plant leadership and audit readiness.

Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance warehouse layout, product flow, and labor efficiency.

Manage rolling stock checked out of warehouse.

Monitor department KPI’s, run reports for overdue PO’s and follow-up on old orders.

Support Quality with weekly sign off of MSS sheets in food grade warehouses.

Write capital spare part AFE’s as needed for plant maintenance needs.

Manage all offsite equipment rebuilds.

High School Diploma or GED – Required

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field – Preferred but not always requiredRequired Skills.

Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
