Position OverviewAssistant Professor Tamar Wilner is looking for a highly motivated graduate student interested in a project at the intersection of media literacy and technology. The student is expected to assist recruitment for and facilitation of group interviews with undergraduates. The group interviews will ask participants about past and imagined experiences involving the discussion of contentious news stories and will include tasks involving generative AI. The position will also involve conducting and reporting qualitative analysis of interview data.Job Description100% - Research Support Required Qualifications

Effective oral and written communication skills as evidenced in application materials.

Interest in media and information literacy as evidenced in application materials.

Interest in working with and learning from undergraduates as evidenced in application materials.Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with qualitative data analysis as evidenced in application materials.

Preferably inductive coding as evidenced in application materials.

Experience with conducting and performing interviews as evidenced in application materials.

Experience leading groups and/or teaching as evidenced in application materials. Position RequirementsDuring the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).Employment Conditions(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position.
