POSITION: Mand and Science Teacher

SALARY: $59264 to $77,712 DOE (Contract starting school year 2025-2026) 2 positions

REPORTS TO: PSIS Principal

LOCATION: Paschal Sherman Indian School, Omak, WA

Basic Funtions: Incumbent is directly responsible for each student they are assigned, to meet the schools goals and objectives for their assigned grade level and/or courses. The Teacher is responsible for helping students meet both cognitive and affective objectives and may be assigned extra duties as needed on an individual basis. The individual will teach 9th and 10th grade students in various science and mathamatics subjects while also leading a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathamatics) elective course or other specially desinated elective. The teacher will also collaborate with Salish language instructors to integrate the Salish language into the curriculum, helping to foster a bilingual nd culturallyn immersive educational enviorment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:

Requires Batchlor's Degree in Science, Mathamatics, Education or related field.

Requires valid Washington State teaching certification in Science and Mathematics.

Requires experience Teaching middle or high school students in science and math subjects

Must obtain a First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Requires a valid WA State Drivers' license.

Requires proof of degree/transcripts, certifications, and THREE written letters of reference along with application.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities;

Requires Strong knowledge of 9th and 10th grade science and math curricula.

Requires passion for STEAM eduction and hands on learning.

Requires the ability to engage and inspire students through innovative, creative teaching methods.

Requires familiarity with current technology tools and resources for student learning (e.g., coding platforms, 3D printing, robotics kits)

Requires Strong commitment to cultural inclusivity and workig with indigenous language teachers to promote immersion.

Requires excellent comminication and interpersonal skills.

Reqires the ability to manage a classroom effectively, fostering both individual and collaborative student learning.

Requires ability to develop and implement curriculum.

Requires ability to maintain classroom control.

Abiity to espablish appropriate, positive and healthy relaationships among youth.

Ability to perform a variety of support activities relateed to behavior managemtnt and classroom instruction of students.

Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Requires social skills necessary to effectively communicate with staff, students, parents, and the public.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
