Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues, overseeing routine and emergency services for critical systems.

Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and ensure troubleshooting within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Train and guide Engineering Operations Technicians, collaborating with the Facility Manager to foster effective team culture.

Develop and implement new standard practices for team operations and vendor support.

Contribute to new facility build-outs and enhance the efficiency of existing operations.

Engage in routine maintenance outside normal business hours and respond to emergency calls as necessary.

Communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.

Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to manage projects, capacity, safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols by all staff and vendors.

Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on facility operations.

Utilize administrative tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for operational tasks.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds independently.

Participate in group lifts for objects weighing over 40 pounds.

Maintain proper balance while performing tasks on ladders.

Regularly engage in physical activities such as walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.

Work in environments where ear protection is required.

A Day in the Life:

In this role, you'll be the frontline support for hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in mission-critical data center facilities. This includes maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting essential equipment with a commitment to achieving more than 99.999% uptime. Your responsibilities will include managing stand-by diesel generators, electric systems, mechanical equipment, fire safety systems, and automation systems.

The Chief Engineer directs, trains, and supports technicians in hands-on troubleshooting and operations, managing projects from initiation to completion. You will work collaboratively with teams across engineering, automation, processing, and finance, ensuring successful outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

Technical training or degree in a relevant field (electrical, mechanical, etc.).

3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.

3+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.

Associates or Bachelor's Degree.

Experience in a leadership role.
