Job Description
Allen Organ Company is seeking a Sr. Embedded Hardware/Software Engineer. The Sr. Embedded Hardware/Software Engineer is a key team member in the Research and Development Department. In this role, you will work with the internal team to design and develop electronic assemblies from the initial schematic through production in coordination with other departments. This position will report to the Chief Engineer here at our location in Macungie, PA. The hours are based on production which are 7am to 4pm Monday through Friday. This is an onsite position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop electronic assemblies from the initial schematic through production, in coordination with other departments.
Develop, debug, and maintain software for our products.
Create, meet, and fulfill project timelines and budgets.
Participate in design reviews.
Create testing plans, scripts and tools for Production and Testing departments.
Create technical documentation.
Maintain a Software Development Life Cycle process consistent with industry best practices and IT and R&D standard operating procedures.
Provide technical assistance to the Service department
Provide technical assistance to the Purchasing department, particularly regarding the selection of appropriate parts for new, current and legacy products.
Provide status reports and participate in team status meetings.
Provide other technical assistance as requested by company executive officers.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field required.
Experience or course work in microprocessor-based electronic design is preferred.
2 years’ experience in C/C++ programming and object-oriented software design or demonstrated proficiency through course work.
Demonstrated interest in audio or music.
Prior experience in Yocto Linux (use, configuration, software development, scripting, and ideally some kernel driver development), MIDI development, Network development (sockets, web sockets, REST, JSON) an/or Database development is helpful.
