Job Description
Job Summary:
We seek a skilled and motivated Product Engineer with a strong semiconductor manufacturing and capital equipment background. This role will focus on supporting customer-driven product development, process optimization, and engineering support for precision components used in semiconductor applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and field personnel to design and deliver component solutions that meet manufacturing and process requirements, particularly for semiconductor applications.
Support first article design, prototyping, and fabrication of customer-specific parts using materials such as quartz and silicon.
Provide technical support to internal and external customers via phone, email, and web-based tools; respond to product inquiries, specifications, and performance capabilities.
Analyze customer documentation (blueprints, technical drawings, specifications) to prepare cost estimates and feasibility recommendations.
Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting to support product reliability, quality concerns, and service issues.
Recommend process improvements and design changes based on cost-benefit analyses, customer requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and sales teams to implement enhancements that improve overall product functionality, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness.
Identify and assess current and future customer service needs by building strong relationships with stakeholders and maintaining ongoing communication.
Contribute to technical proposals and customer solutions by submitting accurate technical documentation and collaborating with engineering and support staff on product changes or custom requests.
Drive continuous improvement by offering insight into product lifecycles, short- and long-term technical challenges, and emerging customer needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science is required; preferred majors include Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
10–15 years of related engineering experience in the semiconductor or capital equipment industry or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
Prior experience as a Process Development Engineer or Principal Engineer in semiconductor fabrication environments, particularly within 14nm logic processes and 300mm wafer production
Direct experience working with etch, deposition, or metrology systems, with a deep understanding of wet etch processes, SPC, FDC, and parts failure analysis
Familiarity with OEM tools and standards from LAM Research, Applied Materials, and Tokyo Electron, and experience supporting or interfacing with their capital equipment and consumables
Prior engineering experience with multinational semiconductor manufacturers such as Samsung, Intel, or TSMC is highly desirable
Experience working with materials such as quartz, silicon, ceramic, graphite, and other semiconductor-grade materials
Hands-on knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools; strong proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and applying GD&T (ANSI/ASME standards)
Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, support first article builds, and contribute to cost-benefit evaluations and process improvement
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially when interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and external customer teams
Prior experience with WCQ-manufactured products (quartz/silicon) is a plus
Proven ability to manage multiple complex technical projects in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual in English and Korean.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate complex mathematical equations and problems.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. The ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Company Description
