Job Description

,The Quality Engineer responsible for assuring quality products are produced through the control of processes and raw materials. Execute inspection and test requirements. Assist with development and adherence to quality control procedures, standard operating procedures, process control plans, FMEA’s, supplier quality and quality management system requirements. This position is providing critical resource to maintain the QHSE management system as required. The Quality Engineer additionally shall utilize lean and quality tools supporting additional projects and assignments within the QHSE group.

Key Result Areas:

The Quality Engineer has responsibility for Quality initiatives and assist with all aspects of Quality within Cleveland Foundry USA manufacturing site under direction of Quality HSE Manager.

• Participate in and lead problem-solving teams and Advanced Quality Planning activities.

• Process and product capability improvements, identify and actively support activities to improve key process performance indicators and improve full rate standards.

• Customer and supplier resolution and improvement activities

• Support and assist with product development efforts through material and finished product testing, process improvement, problem solving, and projects.

• Assist manufacturing personnel and departments with interpretation of conformance to specified requirements.

• Actively audit control plans, respect of standard work and compliance with requirements.

• Ensure with department support that quality system requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO9001:2015

• Perform material testing against established specifications and recommend changes to testing that would improve process monitoring.

• Perform data analysis – checking for trends, evaluating impact of raw material or process changes, process studies.

• Perform Gage R&R studies and improve results through training, development of standard work and equipment/methodology/technology improvement. Coordinate efforts within group and development teams.

• Assist with supplier audits, qualifications and improvement activities.

• Develop and implement a thorough quality training program for manufacturing employees.

• Create visual quality management tools to highlight quality activity and encourage continuous improvement. Lean tools are to be utilized in process improvement.

• Maintain test methods, supplies and calibrations for lab equipment.

• Lead regular audits and assessments to ensure required QHSE procedures and processes meet standards and are properly followed by the workforce.

• Lead, train, and develop necessary quality teams and committees that can assist in advancing quality and manufacturing directives.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, preferably Quality Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a similar field, and quality certifications (desired)

Experience: 3-5 years of similar experience within a manufacturing environment

Knowledge: Must be familiar with the operation of various types lab/testing equipment. Knowledge of SPC, computer applications, basic engineering, Lean, quality standards and auditing. Minitab and Access knowledge is helpful. 6-sigma a plus.
