We are seeking an Engineering Manager with design background to join a local millwork/construction company on the east side of Madison for a direct hire.
Pay: $105,000 - 130,000
The department has 24 employees with 4 Team Leaders. Each team has about 6 individuals. The department includes not only Engineers and drafters but BOM (Bill of Materials group) and Programming

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in design and engineering principles, coupled with
proven leadership abilities and expertise in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Cabinet Vision software. This role
will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the engineering process, from initial concepts and design
through to manufacturing and implementation. The Engineering Manager will play a critical role in driving
innovation, ensuring quality, and optimizing efficiency within our operations. This position reports to the
President.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the engineering team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance
management.
Oversee the design and development of new products and improvements to existing products
using AutoCAD and Inventor.
Utilize Cabinet Vision software for the design, detailing, and manufacturing preparation of
cabinetry and related components.
Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and workflows.
Collaborate closely with sales, manufacturing, and other departments to ensure seamless project
execution and customer satisfaction.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in design software, manufacturing technologies,
and industry trends.
Foster a collaborative and positive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous
learning.
Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders.
Demonstrate a professional attitude when approaching work assignments.
Attend to the needs of the Engineering Team members.
Create a positive, self-motivated atmosphere in a team environment.

Experience / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) required or work
equivalent.
8+ years of progressive experience in engineering design and development.
Proven experience managing and leading an engineering team.
Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor software for 2D and 3D design.
Extensive experience with Cabinet Vision software for cabinet design, detailing, and CNC output.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Experience with [mention any other relevant software, tools, or industry experience, e.g., ERP
systems, lean manufacturing principles].
Experience in the Woodworking industry preferred
