Job Description
We are looking for a Structural Engineer!
Responsibilities:
Perform engineering calculations/evaluations/analysis of structural systems. Examples of typical structural systems are as follows:
Structural Steel Construction including buildings, elevated platforms, service/maintenance cranes, mechanical equipment supports, etc.
Reinforced Concrete Construction including buildings, mechanical equipment bases, foundations, etc.
Masonry Construction including buildings, equipment enclosures, etc.
Prepare Solidworks models.
Prepare Solidworks arrangement/layout/assembly and detail drawings.
Prepare AutoCAD arrangement/layout/assembly and detail drawings.
Prepare bulk and itemized bill of material drawings.
Perform field work and/or inspections in support of projects.
Prepare reports, proposals, installation and engineering estimates.
Specific Responsibilities and Technical Skills:
Strong analytical skills to perform engineering analyses utilizing classical manual analysis.
Prepare Solidworks models of structural assemblies using any combination of component models, AutoCAD drawings, old prints/hardcopies, hand sketches and supervisor verbal instructions.
Prepare AutoCAD arrangement/layout/assembly drawings using any combination of component models, AutoCAD drawings, old prints/hardcopies, hand sketches and supervisor verbal instructions.
Prepare bulk and itemized bills of material in Solidworks drawings, AutoCAD drawings and Microsoft Excel file formats.
Prepare specifications in Microsoft Word and Excel file formats.
Prepare installation/engineering cost estimates in Microsoft Word or Excel file formats.
Prepare reports in Microsoft Word or Excel file formats.
Have diverse practical knowledge of equipment and materials.
Have practical knowledge machining, fabrication and welding methods.
Experience:
5-7+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering, design and detailing in heavy industry preferred
Proficient in engineering design and analysis citing the following code:
American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) 360 - Specification for Structural Steel Buildings
American Concrete Institute (ACI) 318 - Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete.
American Concrete Institute (ACI) 530 - Building Code Requirements and Specification for Masonry Structures.
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7 - Minimum Design Loads of Buildings and Other Structures.
Proficient with Solidworks is preferred
Proficient with AutoCAD with minimum of 2 years of experience.
BS in Civil Engineering strongly preferred. May consider equivalent experience.Company Description
