Purpose: The Assistant Women's Basketball coach will assist the head coach in the planning and operation of a NCAA Division II program.

Coordinate activities through the Head Women's Basketball Coach.
Ability to effectively teach fundamentals, position details and strategies of basketball during preparation and practice sessions.
Ability to motivate teams to become successful.
Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community and the public.
Ability to travel and recruit student-athletes.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to learn and comply with all policies and regulations of the University, and the NCAA.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
Ability to scout opponents Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervision: Received: Head Women's Basketball Coach Given: General with close supervision of less experienced team members and/or in regard to specific projects Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in sports administration, management, business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Two to three years of experience in coaching and/or playing in the respective sport, ideally at the intercollegiate Division II level.
Ability to recruit highly skilled student-athletes.
Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic.
Knowledge of NCAA rules.
Communication Skills/Requirements: Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress, and/ or work completion.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
This position requires professionalism, competence and a positive demeanor in the performance of all duties.
Reasoning Ability: Most work is moderate to advanced complexity and requires judgment depending on departmental needs.
Able to follow instructions and directions requiring normal periods of concentration.
Requires the ability to decide on a course of action.
Must be able to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
