Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent company with professionalism and a positive attitude in all client interactions.
Plan and organize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
Analyze issues, propose logical solutions, and implement resolutions.
Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with team members and clients.
Read and interpret blueprints to determine the most efficient cabling pathways.
Install copper (Cat 5e, Cat 6), fiber optic, or coaxial cables.
Terminate voice and data cables on patch panels and jacks.
Perform punch-down and cross-connect tasks on 66 or 110 blocks.
Build and install equipment racks and securely mount associated hardware.
Test and verify the functionality of installed systems.
Label all cable installations accurately, adhering to industry standards.
Follow building codes and safety regulations at all times.
Maintain company-owned tools and equipment in good condition.
Provide detailed project information to the billing coordinator upon completion.
Support team objectives by performing additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
Comprehensive knowledge of telecommunications and data network cabling, including installation, connectivity, and testing processes.
Proven experience in the voice and data cabling industry.
Proficiency with hand tools and basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials weighing up to 80 pounds unassisted.
Frequent use of ladders, including climbing, standing, and performing overhead cabling tasks.
Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods, including crawling, standing, or sitting.
Proficient in terminating cables using color-coding standards.
