Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

Our customer is searching for an Electrical Design Engineer!

Ideal candidates must be a degreed EE with industrial experience with power up to 480v.

Candidate will be responsible for the following:

Involved in all aspects of the electrical engineering portion of primarily industrial related projects

Perform analysis, design, and documentation of large and/or complex building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm, security, audio/visual, and telecommunications systems

Serve as electrical systems contact support. Conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope/complexity and devise solutions

Assist in preparation, coordination, and completion of electrical systems construction documents packages

Assist in quality control review of projects

Meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address electrical discipline issues and to develop effective working relationships

Visit construction sites as required for observation, answering contractor questions. Prepare, review and approve field observation reports

Education

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience

4-7+ years of experience working as an EE, including the design of power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, security, audio/visual and telecommunications systems and fire alarm systems.

LEED accreditation helpful

Working knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines

Proficiency in SKM or other electrical systems evaluation programs helpful

Familiarity with NEC, NFPA and all local codes and supplements
