Network Administrator - Sporting Events

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Event Network Administrator with exceptional project coordination and documentation skills, critical thinking abilities, and a strong sense of ownership. In this role, you will play a crucial part in preparing, deploying, and maintaining network solutions for large-scale events where connectivity is critical. Key Responsibilities:

Understand how to read a topology and an event network design

Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network-related issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.

Manage IP addressing schemes, subnets, and VLANs.

Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.

Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users for network-related issues.

Work with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues and coordinate upgrades.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field, or equivalent of 2+ years of hands-on network administration experience.

Proven experience as a network administrator or in a similar network-focused role.

Proficiency in network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (e.g., network monitoring tools, firewall management).

Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, WLAN), and wireless networking standards (802.11 n/ac/ax/be)

Experience with network security practices (e.g., firewall configuration).

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and support.

Preferred Skills:

Network Certifications like CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar

Wireless Certifications like CWNA, CWDP, or similar

Familiarity with network configurations and technologies.

Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Knowledge of network monitoring tools like OpManager Plus, PRTG, Cisco Meraki, and Ekahau.

Experience in network performance analysis.

Excellent communication skills, highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.

Attitude: Curiosity and eagerness to tackle new challenges in a constantly evolving environment.

Ability to work remotely and travel on-site typically between 70 and 100 days per year.
