COME JOIN OUR TEAM AT REEFER PETERBILT METRO! Reefer Peterbilt is a second-generation family-owned medium & heavy-duty truck dealership looking for a Full-Time Service Advisor in Auburn Hills, MI. This individual must be customer-oriented, be a team player, highly organized, and motivated. No prior experience is required; however, it is highly preferred.

The primary function of the Service Advisor is to schedule appointments, communicate with customers about their vehicle repair needs and relay information to the Service Technicians about needed repairs. This is a non-exempt position.

SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS

Customer service: Service Advisors deal with suppliers, provide estimates and schedule appointments, so being courteous and friendly is essential. They also need to be able to handle customer complaints diplomatically and politely.

Communication skills: As a liaison between the customer and technician, a Service Advisor needs to be able to clearly explain the technician's repair recommendations to customers while communicating customer needs to technicians.

Comprehension skills: Service Advisors should be able to comprehend customers questions and concerns as well as what is being said when technicians give complex service recommendations.

Troubleshooting skills: Service Advisors need to be able to think on their feet and quickly resolve issues when customers change their minds about service work, repairs are running behind schedule or parts arrive late.

Math and writing skills: Service Advisors calculate estimates so having good math skills are an essential part of the job. Writing skills are needed when closing out customer invoices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the primary Customer Contact

Advise Customers of recommended services

Focus on Customers' needs/expectations

Build trusting relationships with customers

Promote the sale of parts and services

Establish method of payment on open accounts and work with office personnel in setting up new accounts as needed

Perform walk-a-round upon the arrival of trucks and capture the following information on the write up; any damage on the truck; if towed in, document if anything was pulled & have the tow company sign next to this information; mileage, VIN, hours, customer complaints, make sure you are getting clear, concise information for the technicians to properly diagnose; Verify with the customer if they would like parts removed returned to them or discarded; Obtain customer's signature on write ups and provide customer with a copy

Handle telephone inquiries

Oversee and manage the service office schedule and workflow

Verify warranty eligibility status of incoming vehicles and note the information for technicians

Work with parts on pricing and availability of parts and send estimate to customers for approval

Once estimates are approved update foreman/pass down on when parts are expected or if all parts are here

Upon completion of repairs, verify that all labor estimated is charged and parts used are charged and shown on Repair Orders

Complete all paperwork associated with repairs including DOT forms

Inform customers of changes in service or when their vehicle is ready to be picked up

Obtain customer cash or check payments and direct to the cashier

Other duties as assigned

Pay & Schedule:

Hourly from $20 - $30, and up based on experience.

Monday through Friday, 10:30 am - 7:15 pm, rotating Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., rotating Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
