Job Details Job Location: Palm Beach Atlantic University - West Palm Beach - West Palm Beach, FL Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: Undisclosed Clery Compliance and Threat Assessment Manager SUMMARY The Clery Compliance and Threat Assessment Manager oversees PBA's compliance with the Clery Act, ensuring timely reporting of campus crime and fire safety information, developing necessary policies, and managing training for Campus Security Authorities.
Additionally, this position leads a threat assessment team, monitors potential threats, conducts risk assessments, and implements safety protocols to protect PBA's community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential Functions - Clery Compliance * Coordinates PBA's Clery Act compliance program through initiating, developing, revising, and maintaining all Clery Act compliance components, policies, and procedures.
* Prepares and publishes PBA's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.
* Provides, facilitates, and coordinates relevant training for institutional Campus Security Authorities.
Essential Functions - Threat Assessment * Establishes and leads a Threat Management Team and conducts regular meetings with team members to discuss active potential threats and responsive action plans.
* Creates or refines PBA policies and procedures regarding threat identification, assessment, and response.
* Continually monitors external and internal sources for signs of potential threats, such as suspicious behavior, concerning communications, or security breaches, and reports as necessary through the Threat Management Team.
* Gathers all available information (from multiple sources, including internal reports, law enforcement, and external resources) and assesses the risk probability.
* Conduct risk analysis by evaluating the seriousness and credibility of the threat based on evidence and risk factors.
* Makes recommendations for departments with authority to initiate immediate emergency action.
* Develops individualized safety plans for those affected or at risk.
* In partnership with Human Resources, recommends or facilitates interventions such as counseling, employee assistance programs, or mediation to reduce the risk of violence.
* Establishes protocols with mental health professionals for threat assessment purposes.
* Makes recommendations for departments with authority to initiate immediate emergency action.
* Develops individualized safety plans for those affected or at risk.
* In partnership with Human Resources, recommends or facilitates interventions such as counseling, employee assistance programs, or mediation to reduce the risk violence.
* Establishes protocols with mental health professionals for threat assessment purposes.
* Ensures the threat assessment process is properly documented and reported to relevant authorities or stakeholders.
Maintains comprehensive records of ongoing assessments, interventions, and actions taken.
* Partners with PBA departments including but not limited to Student Development, Department of Public Safety, Counseling and Wellness, Risk Management, Human Resources - Title IX to establish response protocols, procedures, and training.
* Ensures PBA's early warning system is well-defined and adequate to meet threat assessment needs.
Essential Functions - Clery Compliance AND Threat Assessment * Assists in developing and managing a Timely Warning and Emergency Notification program, including providing guidance concerning whether a warning or notification is required in response to a report and providing input regarding the content of the warning or notification.
* Collaborates with the Office of Residence Life on evacuation policy and procedures and assist with drills as needed.
* Collaborates with the Public Safety Department and Emergency Management Team to ensure testing of the emergency notification system.
* Ensures tests meet the Higher Education Opportunity Act's (HEOA) test definition.

Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, or equivalent experience * 3+ years of experience * Requires in-depth knowledge of the Clery Act and other laws or regulations affecting Clery Act provisions.
Law enforcement, university experience, or similar competency preferred.
